This painting was inspired by a walk my wife and I took in a park up in Northern Wisconsin, an area carved out by ancient glaciers. The trees were just starting to bud, promising the new life of spring, while the dim twilight sky accented their skeletal frame. I snapped a photo of my wife sitting in quiet contemplation, taking this whole scene in, and later did the painting based on that image.
